我儿子毛圣玮,现年21岁,独子,2007年9月28日到加拿大哈利法克斯市圣玛丽大学上语言课,住在寄宿家庭.
6 \8 X8 m5 n; J3 g2007年10月28日毛圣玮与家中通话说与房东相处非常压抑,特别不融洽.之后家中便与毛圣玮失去联系.之后便失踪.2007年11月19日我本人与房东联系,房东说:”已走人”.2007年12月14日才由中国贵州六盘水警方通知家人说加拿大方面于二周前在港口发现毛圣炜的尸体,脖子上有绳索勒的痕迹,但并未告知死亡原因.
) c% f5 K! [; d4 L% i5 r/ a噩耗传来,举家悲愤.我丈夫身患尿毒症,并做过肾移植手术,如此悲愤使他卧床不起.作为母亲和妻子,我多年的含辛茹苦,被一纸噩耗付诸东流,痛不欲生.幸得,亲人苦苦相劝,才使我有继续生存的念头和勇气.痛苦之余,想到毛圣玮作为一个中国公民,家中独子,自幼与母亲一起陪伴父亲坚强的与疾病,死亡作斗争,分外珍惜亲情与生命,是一个孝敬孩子，是一个朝气蓬勃,意志坚强.,充满无限希望的到异国求学的中国学子,非但没有学到本领报效祖国.孝敬父母,而是客死他乡.到如今,连死亡的真正原因得不到明确答复,叫人怎不产生置疑.

My 21- year old son,Shengwei Mao, was an only child in my family. He went to TESL in Saint Mary’sUniversity to study English and lived at Homestay on September 28, 2007.

6 L# x* b1 r2 I& v& K1 G2 NShengwei Mao called back home on October28, 2007 and expressed how difficult the relationship was between him and hishost family. Afterwards, he lost the contact with home, and disappeared. Icalled the Homestay on November 19, 2007 to ask about Mao, and the host said hehad moved out. The police in China notified us on December 14, 2007 that theCanadian police found the Mao’s body at the harbor two weeks ago, and theyfound a strangling print on his neck, but the Canadian police didn’t releaseany cause of his death to us.

After the tragedy passed back, my wholefamily was in a deep grief. The tragedy made my husband who already has a uremiaand had a kidney-transplant operation worse in the bed. As a wife and a mother,after enduring all kinds of hardship to raise him up, I’m completely desperate andin extremely sorrow by this notification full of tragedy. Fortunately, after thoughtfullycomforting by my relatives, I had the wills and courage to continue my life. Asa Chinese citizen and an only child in my family, Mao and I strongly accompaniedhis father to overcome the severe disease and death. Mao especially treasuredfamily affiliation and life. He was a great kid who was dutiful and enthusiastic,had strong wills, and was full of beautiful hopes to study abroad. However, notonly didn’t he learn any foreign skill to serve back for his home nation andhis parents, but he was done with his life overseas. Up to today, even thecauses of his death are not discovered yet, and how couldn’t I suspectsomething going on there?

When he found out he would have a chance to study in Saint Mary’s University, he was very happy and excited. On September 28, 2007, he flew to Halifax and started his study as a new student in the Teaching English as Second Language (TESL). In order to assist students to adjust to the new environment quickly, the school has arranged

Although Shengwei very much enjoyed his new life in Canada, he felt homesick. He called me at October 28, 2007, and said that it was very hard to get along with his host family. I started worrying about him, but I did not expect that was my last conversation with him. Shengwei went missing and had not contacted me ever since. Worried and desperate, I called the host family on November 19, 2007. The host told me that Shengwei had moved out a while ago. I had been trying to contact all his friends to find a clue in the last two months until the Chinese police department notified us Shengwei’s death on December 14, 2007. According to them, RCMP found my son’s body in the harbor two weeks before, and there was a strangling mark on his neck, but RCMP has not release the cause of his death to us yet.

The tragic news hit us very hard! My husband, a kidney-transplant operation survivor, was rushed to ER and dying in the hospital. As a wife and a mother, I was extremely sad and desperate. Shengwei was a great kid and he was the treasure of my life. He was very mature, responsible, and full of energy. When his father got sick last year, he had showed his deep love of his family and strong support. He was so enthusiastic about this opportunity to study in Saint Mary’s University. I could not believe that such an energetic young man has become a lifeless body in two months. I could not help wondering what happened to my son in his last days. ' H! g; ]9 h& o

As a desperate mother, I supplicate you to assist me investigating my son’s sudden death. With his father dying in the bed, I could not fly to Halifax to see my son. 作为毛高中时期的同学，听到这个消息让我十分震惊，我不敢相信这个噩耗是真的，在我听到这个消息的一个多星期里，我一直都在安慰自己，肯定是消息出错，这不是真的，他才出去两个月，短短的两个月而已，就给他所有的家人，亲戚，朋友带来一个让人悲痛欲绝的意外。他的音容笑貌现在还历历在目，现在消息已经逐渐传开，可是我仍然无法接受这是个事实。3 x( q3 P4 l  b4 U
试想一下他最后时光的绝望无助，他孤独的痛苦，试想一下他本该在这个圣诞节感受比较原汁原味的西方圣诞气氛，他该是怎样的笑容。我们远在大洋彼岸，应该能听到他今天的祝福。可是今天的事实是，他的妈妈却在医院里守着她卧床不起的丈夫，饮泪巴望着儿子能回到她的身边。想到这些，作为一个有血有肉的人都无法决绝自己眼泪落下。
