Saint Mary’s University Offers Condolences to Shengwei Mao’s Family

Saint Mary’s University is deeply saddened and concerned by the unexpected death of Shengwei Mao, a student who was enrolled in the Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) program. The death of any young person is tragic and the death of Mao causes great distress and is shared by all who knew him in the University and in his family.

( W$ S( U5 J+ @8 u, A0 u& qMao came to Saint Mary’s from the province of Gui Zhou, China.

The University is not allowed to provide any details surrounding his death; however, the proper authorities will provide details to Mao’s family in private. # Q' ^. Q p% ]( k! ]
- C* h* x7 K1 h' R8 H( cThe University is in contact with his family and is offering its deepest condolences and will arrange an appropriate memorial service on campus at a time convenient to the family. ' V: _3 G% M* {$ ~2 |
