Cantest of SMU TESL 考试概况
Cantest是指Canadian Test of English for Scholars and Trainees (CanTEST)。在SMU的Cantest语言考试一般分为Official和Non-official 两种。一般考试情况如下:

任何人均可以报名,报名费在internal candidates(看TEST DETAILS)是C$175 + 税,过了internal candidates(即external candidates)以后是C$225 + 税。考试时间一般是在星期六,一年有6次考试机会(看CanTEST DATES)。考试分听力、快速阅读、阅读、写作、口语几个部分。由于考试人数不多,所以一般在一个小教室考试。评分按听力、阅读、写作和口语4部分,满分5分。分数要求平均4.5以上,并且没有低于4.0的分数(就是听力、阅读、写作和口语全部都要在4.0以上)。Official Cantest的成绩在加拿大很多个大学(包括多伦多大学等一些所谓的NB大学)都承认。 ! Non-Official Cantest:

Non-official Cantest是报读TESL的学生开学时进行的分级考试,以及在读学生在出勤率及格的情况下进行的final 考试。与Official Cantest不一样的是没有口语部分,其他的相同。由于一般考生很多,所以在大礼堂或者大会议室进行考试。考试的成绩只有SMU承认,一般只作下一期就读TESL的分级标准。如果你下一期不读TESL或者隔一段时间再读,那这个成绩就不起作用了。因为你再回来读书的话就算是returning student,要重新进行开学的分级考试。

3 `5 D4 D. `8 ?3 s4 i+ r3 c一般来说Official Cantest要比Non-official Cantest题目要难,再加上中国人都不大爽的口语考试,Official Cantest与Non-official Cantest的成绩差别会比较大。但是除了口语考试以外的部分是相同的。另外一个不同的是Non-official Cantest的题目大概只有4-5套,也就是说,TESL的Non-official Cantest大概3学期以后就出现重复的一套题目,大家可要留意了哟!!具体考试详情请看Cantest of SMU TESL 考试tips。

1 d8 s/ G% E$ ~& sCandidates are advised that the CanTEST requires the full day, so they should bring a lunch and be prepared to be on campus until late afternoon on testing days.
